I personally dont give a shyt about what kind of people are in office if their policies are good. Politicians are purely a vessel for policy and democrats have it flipped the other way.
They either stubbornly refuse to accept, or they're too stupid to realize that voters want results they can look at and say "yes things are changing for the better"
What does Donald trump, FDR, Obama and Xi jinping all have in common? They all have things they can point to and say "that was me" The public works programs built mega projects like dams, housing, public art, railroad stations, libraries etc. Obama expanded health care coverage, ordered stimulus checks, and helped put money in people's pockets through cash for clunkers. He can also point in the direction of the ocean and say "The terrorist mastermind that planned the attacks in 2001 is under that water". Donald trump can point to his wall, and he can point to the concentration camps and legions of military and gestapo in the streets and say "i did that. You were afraid of crime, now there are soldiers literally patrolling the streets. You were afraid of latin gangs and foreigners, now turn on the news and see them getting snatched up. You were afraid of gangs sneaking through the border, now come with me to the southern border and look at the wall I ordered. You were afraid of Muslims, turn on the news to see them getting deported"

What can Biden point to? What can any potential democrat presidential candidate point to as far as plans for what theyd do or what they have done in their city or state? Nothing. All theyve got is "I'm not a republican" that isn’t enough for white people who are still the ones who decide elections. White people do not care about going backwards in a country designed on a bedrock of white supremacy. Everyone else does and they vote Democrat because they feel they have no other option. Democrats hate their own party members when they actually have ambition and are focused on making serious policy changes and investments that people can see with their own eyes. They think politics is all about bullshytting people and making excuses instead of actually solving problems. The party's approval ratings as a whole relative to the progressive members in it tells you everything you need to know.
There are people in the party who want to actually make a difference and live in reality and there are people in the party who want to make money and pretend they live in an episode of the west wing. The less of the second type of Democrat, the better.
