Yeah. It's hard to explain but GZA brought that Brooklyn energy to that whole collective. U-God grew up in Staten Island but he had a lot of Brooklyn influence. RZA & Dirty had the BK influence. Masta Killa was from BK.

If we want to be 100% honest Staten Island didn't have enough flavor to generate some fly shyt like that without outside influence. Not at that time. Dope hip hop for sure (UMCs) but there no mystique about Staten Island before Wu.
