It was mainly supposed to be a distinction since other blacks flagrantly claim to have different experiences and don’t want us to speak for them and don’t want to be seen as AA’s

...while speaking for us and getting NAACP scholarships saying slave descent don’t deserve reparations, while at the same time having no slave blood at all

It was supposed to explain a nuance that looked funny in the light.

When I win I bring we with me
Carnell & Tone :camby:......dumb ass term:comeon:
(and that's before getting into that ridiculous "wealth analysis" they try & pull)

:snoop:
That said, this has less to do with them and more to do with media outlets elevating (twitter, reddit, etc) post to relevant "news".
If I get one more update from Atlanta Blackstar concerning some random shyt said on twitter & Instagram....:mindblown:

i saw the gay cnn guy using this term in discussion with a guest speaker who was talking about non black minorities benefiting from groundwork we laid. specifically in reference to the new minority dem reps like aoc and the muslim lady. the gist of their discussion was do they really connect with issues important to black people? there is some overlap, but then i saw aoc saying reparations were larger than just black folks. i cant rock with that. reparations are for black people first and foremost. period point blank.

good to see distinction being made, but my concern is whenever something for us goes mainstream it risks getting watered down and co-opted. this is also why its important for us to push black candidates from the local level on up who connect with the distinction.

I get the clear up But the term DOS makes me uncomfortable. Yeah we got slave blood but idk man. I feel people are gonna just use it to malign us. I've been trying to think of a better term, kinda stumped tho.

Just use the term OBA (Original Black American)

I forgot who on here came up with it but I'm hoping it catches on.

It's more specific than DOS because there are descendants of slaves that aren't from here.

It's shorter, catchier, and won't make you uncomfortable.
