I`m not a dev but my first job out of college the system I supported was built on Cobol and all of the devs were old school russians lol.

:russ: :russ: :russ: we had an old ass Russian nikka teaching this shyt when i was in undergrad. They let the Comp Info Systems folks take it, but not the Comp Sci folks. We had to take FORTRAN instead. I thought it pretty much the same major until I had to take fukking Physics w/ Calculus, Statistics and Linear Algebra :wow: All three of them shyts kicked my ass.

Thats why I did CIS instead of CS, I was like f ALL that Math AND I could still work in the same industry.

Computer science major classes were alright, I failed my intro programming class and almost failed my senior testing class:whew:
But Calc II, physics I/II were terrible, I only passed because of luck and the professor knew I tried in that class
I almost took calc III :damn:, before finding out I could swap it with a science class like geology:ahh:

I remember one of my classmates melting while taking a test in Calc II. All I heard was 'Oh my God, yo :to:' :pachaha:

I took Zoology as an elective, and I was in there w/ the cutie pie biology/pre-med majors :takedat:. Had to join forces w/ a couple chicks so I could get out that mufukka.

AND the cute chicks were in there smh

The good looking chicks tended to be marketing majors which was the easiest major in the business school. CIS pretty much my classes were tiny because most folks changed majors to stuff like marketing or management once we got into the core classes.

And it never helps that the teachers are usually foreign and have a thick ass accent. :mjcry:

All my professors were Korean (they were all cool though) and I had one professor who was a breh and actually alum from my university funny enough he was my hardest professor but id say i learned a ton in his class more so as it relates to re world problem solving.

the worst thing about it is having to take the classes out of your major. I'm a CS major and the engineering classes have been the hardest for me by far:martin:

machine language/micro controllers and processors were ridiculous for me:francis:

also I had to take a focus in a science elective, and I chose plant biology because I was not gonna do chemistry:whoa:

too expensive and I didn't wanna bother, plant bio was challenging in it's own ways but it was interesting and the labs were fun.

So I'm an associate teacher, and I'm considering completing an education degree.

Some of the ladies I work with keep saying don't do it and I need to look into something else.

If I do, it'll be a stem major. If I don't do education, I'll do chemistry, environmental science, biotechnology, or biochem.

What do you STEM brehs recommend?

Do NOT do those standard Science majors like Chemistry, Biology, Physics. There's only 2 paths to that. PhD or working at McDonalds

My Calc I teacher was Korean. She was terrible lol. I re-took the class with an Indian woman and she was good. She used real life examples.
