Major League Soccer (MLS) agrees to 10-year, $2.5 billion TV deal with Apple; MLS games will no longer be on local TV

Is this good for MLS?

Wow what a difference Messi has made….I’ve watched every minute he’s played in MLS and I find myself suddenly plugged in to the league again. This Apple TV app works great and in this world with so many streaming services and cable plans it’s awesome knowing exactly where all the mls content lives. It wouldn’t shock me to see the NBA go this route in the future.

This. I dont know why/how all of these people are complaining about how this deal is panning out for MLS. The league is a fringe league and tried something new and is doing well with it. Obviously as of right now, Messi has helped ten-fold, but in general, for all fans, if you got the Apple TV app, you knew that ALL games were on there, no blackout issues, no nothing. And you know what time the games are (7:30 local time where the game is being played). Also, you get EVERY game in the league so there is no issues there.
Its selfishness and laziness to think the league would still have your local game on TV in your area, as there would be no reason to get Apple, as 90% of people (pre- Messi) dont care about teams outside their city. It was a great move for the league. The only question is we will see if its a great move for Apple all together in a few years.

The funny part was the casual fans narrative about losing access when they were highly unlikely to watch anyway.

i'll say this now, messi and his Barca misfits aren't enough for me to watch an inferior product on TV. just like ronaldo and all those aging stars going to Saudi won't have me waking up at the crack of dawn to watch that trash league. it is what it is :francis:

Breh, I tried so hard to like MLS, but them shyt refs, dumb ass rules, and bum ass teams only to get washed by Seattle just kills the vibes.

Bad enough Apple is unholy garbage when it comes down to sports coverage.

I honestly tapped out this year sports wise. Between greedy ass MLB with the blackouts, and meh bland content in Futbol, maybe I have grown out of this sports shyt.
