I feel like I've saw this thread a thousand times :russell:. I prefer the Nas version though Me and My Girlfriend was my least favourite track on the Makaveli album.

How?

I gave you power is one of the best rap songs ever written and some people even theorize it was the same gun used in the shootout scene in the message.

I gave you power is a straight up allegorical short story with a plot, real metaphors, and character development where the main character/gun turns good by making himself jam in his owners hand.

I've even heard some people state that that the main character/gun represents a young hopper and the wrecked up tec who hadn't been cleaned in a year represents an old head who's been in the drug game for years. The owner of the gun was also viewed as a mid level manager in the drug game and the gun/young hopper turned on the boss at the climax.

There's levels to nas' version because it's straight up art. Nas wins hands down no question.
