The black household median is 43,000

Only about 20 percent of households even break the six-figure mark

Only 6 percent of individuals make over 100k

Glad to know all 6 percent are posting on the colo

The Coli is the only place I've ever seen where people, presumably black people, consider $120K plus salary to be peanuts :mjlol:

This is especially funny when you consider that black people have the lowest household income in the US....way below $120K :francis:

And even removing race, the median household income in the US is $51,759 across the board. So most families would love $120K plus :comeon:

Yes, $120K is peanuts if you live in a large city and want to live like the rich and famous. But if you want to live within your means, you can find a spot in or around the city that is clean, safe and fits your needs on $120K. You can pay your bills, save some money and take some trips on $120K.

But if you want to fraud like a baller on $120K, then yes, maybe $120K will be extra tight :skip:

Peace

Whats funny is Seattles median household income is 80

Seattles black households have a median income of 37,000

So please sir how are blacks surviving in Seattle?

Go read up on the cost of living in Seattle and high cost of amenities. It is not a cheap city by any means. Look at pricing of housing in Seattle. 80K between two people will not be as glamorous as you keep trying to imply.

Nah... He's wrong... because 120k is great for 80% of the country outside of most of the west coast and upper east coast....

Waits for 30 coli posts all saying that the got 100k equity in their homes within 5 years after purchasing it,,,,
:lolbron:
I honestly did :yeshrug: found a great foreclosure during the down market (2010) and cause I kept my credit A1, while it seemed like everyone else was fcuked up in the game was able to finesse most of the money needed to get the house fixed up out of the bank in the deal.

Refinanced a few months ago, appraisal was 106k over what I paid May 2010.:blessed:

Took out enough to pay off all my debt except my car cause I'm only paying 2% simple interest.:win:

Started contributing to my saving outside of my 401k and actually have an emergency fund like white folks do in movies lol.

And for all of the hustlers and hood CEO's and business people who tried to give me game. It was susie Orman who actually got me in line. She really is the truth for practical everyday people.

If you want to do the CEO baller free spirit thing, then bless you. I'm just trying to take care of my family and live comfortable and have something for when I get old.:obama:

Napkin math
$124k gross = $74,000k net or $6200/month
$6200 - child support average 25% of net (depending on state) =$1550.00
$6200 - 1550 = $4650 net
$4650- $2500 mortgage = $2150.00
$2150.00 / 4 weeks = $537.00 take home
$537 / week minus food, car note , insurance, monthly expenses = :feedme:

Everyone has a different life. No one knows the expenses folks may have, especially working at a hospital one thing I've learned is never to judge.

A dude may be paying his grandma's medical bill or her meds. Or his sick aunt's rent, or his wife is on disability or lost her job so he's got to shell out more.

It's easy to sit on a high horse and be like this and that but until you can see someone's budget and their expenses .

:rudy: Uhhhh no. They'll joke about the shyt. They just spend beyond their means

Some of the craziest nonsense I have ever read on the internet.

Breh i havent even finished reading the rest of the thread but i read that bullshyt and was floored. Like what company out there is going to let you LLC yourself or hire your business instead of you. Plus you lose all employee benefits that come with a W2.

However if the goal is to do outside contracting then thats another story..

well unlike some of the dumb shyt i'm reading in this thread about how 120k in milwaukee ain't shyt. if you bought your home in 2009-10, 100k in equity isn't unbelievable at all.

You need to factor in where the coli posters live. If they live in Mississippi claiming to make six figures you know something doesn't add up. A number of the 6 cert brehs actually work in the high cost areas like NY, DC and the bay.

Some brehs make it sound impossible when it's actually the norm for certain jobs in those cities. If you work in the boonies odds are you make boonies pay and if you work in the city you probably make city pay. Some of you are reflecting your boonies pay on city brehs.

If 60k is poor then wtf am I, not even at 30 yet? :skip:

120k+ is a boat load of money for anyone as long as you're living within you means. You don't need a new 5 series every year or a exquisite 4 bedroom house downtown. That why so many people are in debt because they make poor financial decisions.
