Good makeup takes time, energy, money, skill, and practice to master, which is why (as others have said ) most women aren't leaving the house like this on a routine basis. There's simply not enough hours in the day. I would bet that majority of the women in the OP r preparing for a special occasion, not a run of the mill errand.

I'd also say that majority of black women have fine to superb natural skin. Those women look like they could have actual skin conditions. Of all the black women I've met in my life I'd say maybe 3 tops have the level of acne and discoloration in those pics. So most women's makeup isn't as drastic a transformation because they aren't as bad to begin with.

Believe it or not most women don't wear a cake face like that everyday. That's some special occasion pancake #45.

Let them feel good about themselves... it's not about tricking anyone. It's more about esteem.

Men will never understand this because they are on some "If we are ugly ... we just gotta be ugly. We can't go pile on makeup like women can."

Maybe it's because you're a little older than the generation that really jumped for contouring, but there are a lot of women who wear heavily blended makeup every single day or at least 5 days of the week.
It's terrifying.
I hung around one girl for almost 3 years before I finally saw her without makeup, and at that point I had gotten so used to it (literally the same makeup, same application, everyday) that it was a shock to see her without it. I hang around women who don't wear makeup more than once or twice a month now (other than eyeliner), but there are many, many women who go full out every single day.
It does feel a little dishonest, as a guy I have to accept my physical flaws, and can't constantly hide them.

I see it during my morning commute, it's crazy. Be happy with what God gave you, cause that cake face comes off eventually.

Personally I think having bags under your eyes or little imperfections is beautiful. You're a human being, you're going to look tired at 7:30am. The insecurity is really strong with some.
