maybe I'm retarded, but I cannot follow the graph :ohh:
Basically the bottom is the percentile for wealth in your early 30s and the number on the graph is your projected wealth percentile in your 50s. Its basically showing that black Americans have a difficulty both building wealth and maintaining that wealth compared to white Americans.

Haven’t read the article but I’m guessing her point has something to do with white people having access to wealth via their family, parents, etc… and most black people don’t come from that

Either way if you can’t figure out how to make 125K work for you, you probably have poor spending habits and need to reevaluate your finances

It's more complicated than that though.

A lot of black people have to spend a lot of their money supporting their parents and other family members, and also have more loans to pay off. Meanwhile white people are much more likely to inherit wealth from their parents instead. Sure, there's no real excuse not to be able to live off 125k but that's not the same as building wealth.

Yeah it’s not to same. Because of various reasons

If you make 125 but your parents paid for your college , bought you a car and etc your ahead of the curve

125 as a black person your probably having to clear debt buy your own first car , you probably the one helping out family members .

When you look at these nba players that go broke they take care of like 20 people

You just now figuring this out?

:gucci:

Y'all nikkas grew up in bubbles the way y'all be in your 30s+ just “figuring” shyt out that's been well known and established as an issue and hurdle for a Black person.

I'm 26yrs old and feel like I'm a step ahead than most on this site in terms of being philosophically aware of the realities being of Black.

I swear to almighty allah, god, jehovah, Yahweh, el shadai - I too will flood the minds of millions and millions with my own propaganda. Distribute endless polls consistently highlighting the many areas the black man dominates the man. It is clear many of fellow brothers and sisters in race can’t see what the man is doing to them.

I don't want to hear nothing about your yearly excorcise in throwing money down the drain on trips if you're making over 125k and mad about not getting your debt paid off.

I understand what you're getting at, but that's more of a choice than a requirement. And I say that as someone who just had to drop money on a family member twice.

I can relate as you’re actually describing my life…you can still build wealth but obviously the process is slower if you have additional baggage.

Not directed at you but I hate tweets like the one in the OP because it’s more of this “woe is me” stuff that isn’t productive
