I think if your name has 3 syllables or more (like my one has), cacs can either not pronounce it or make a joke out of it.
This is primarily down to 2 reasons; 1. They are used to short, Anglo names like David, Michael, John, etc (a lot which come from the Bible) or 2. Because it's different or new and they've never come across it before, they ridicule it so it takes the pressure off of their bland selves.
I'm proud of my real name, and prefer it to having a bland one that a million other people have the same name as me across the world.

You gotta take into consideration that black american culture is a few hundred years old where as other cultures have had thousands of years to develop their names and generational identities. If people come here with a funny sounding name, it's because it is derived from their language which will naturally sound odd to someone else. Hell, I think a chinese person is calling out for someone they know every time a piece of silverware drops. I think it is a disservice to make fun of black people with unique names however since they are still carving out an identity on this stolen land that was built on their backs. Sure, some of the names can be a bit outlandish and even out of pocket sometimes and should perhaps be called out in the interest of their children's future. However, when it's simply done to generalize and ridicule their culture then that's just being plain racist. If we're still around for another couple hundred or thousand years, the name's will no longer have shock value and will stand for the cultural identity that they birthed that will distinguish themselves from everybody else, just as everyone else on this earth has been given the opportunity to.
