i never understood the idea of criticizing another black man on the clothes he wears. Being at the bottom of the socio-economic totem pole black men aren't any position to criticize other brothers about their clothes. It isn't like the brands we wear is owned by someone black anyway. You also don't see any other men critiquing each other with the same ruthlessness as black men anyway. This is testament of the fact that they've been raised by single mothers. While other groups of men roll up their sleeves to discuss business and new ventures, black men are cracking jokes about each others clothing, standing in 2 hour wait lines for jordans, going to prison trying to impress impress women who care absolutely nothing about them, excluding from friendship other brothers because of their attire. These nikkas are more catty than females. Which is why i dont take most serious

I make fun of nikkas who wear cheap flashy gear. If you're like in your 20s walking around in some fukkin cheap ass coogi jeans and an ecko t-shirt with matching nikes? I'm clownin on you. I understand not having the money to put into fashion, but if you don't care about fashion then at least dress respectable ya feel me?

I don't try to dress up everyday i keep it basic. Jeans, t-shirt, airmaxes. That whole outfit costs less than 200 dollars. And i still look fresh and not clownish.

And + i feel like any man who doesn't put money into some kind of quality clothing really is a bum. Like you gotta wear clothes, so even if you don't wear designer at least buy some decent shyt thats gonna last.

What about them old dudes that rock 4XL shirts and Karl Kani shyts? :mjlol:

True that, but these nikkas still think like high schoolers well into their 30s and 40s. Still chasing p*ssy and not building wealth is bum shyt, even with an expensive ass fresh outfit

Style ain't got no price...you can stay fly by keeping it cheap and simple. Mostly if ya clothes fit you'll be good. But everybody got their own style (or lack of style).

This is something I was thinking about a while ago too. I used to be the main one getting cracked on by other kids in class back during middle school and especially high school. :wow: There used to be this one kid that would make a huge scene getting on your clothes if it was tacky. The day I came to school with some fake J's my goodness. :ohmy1:

Anyway now I don't really care about that shyt anymore. I just buy mature looking fitted clothes. Nothing gaudy though. I know those crew necks and v necks at Target look real simple and cheap but they get worn out real quick. I'd say it's best to just find a type of look that you like and one that fits your personality. I feel more comfy wearing slim fitted jeans like Levi 513's.

I usually keep a blue and black pair with the occasional dark blue or w/e and rock some fresh ass chucks with it. I then basically wear that with a nice looking shirt with minimal graphics. Accessories like a nice necklace or wristband and I'm gucci. I typically get complimented on my shoes and my hair so I can get by with a simple style.

Back then I'd be checking my underwear to make sure they namebrand. Even socks wasn't safe. Voit socks would get you a roasting session back then.

I remember back in the day nikkas was poor as shyt and hand me downs was a way a life. Got in mad fights in school cuz of nikkas tryna clown. One thing I told myself was that when I get $$$ imma be rocking name brand everything. Fast forward to age 26 and i dont care about name brand or designer anything, will still wear something nice if I am going out but day to day its some cargo shorts and a free t shirt i got from somewhere. I also make more money than I know what to do with these days(85k) but aint bought any clothes in like two years.

Yeah its really sad. Black men have taken the characteristics of their female counterparts. Women critique each other over frivolous things. This isn't something that any man should engage in. If I sees brother in a off brand polo and worn jeans I don't judge him in the slightest. In fact its most comical to see men in their 30s and 40s wearing the same attire as teenagers. These same clowns don't have their own car and live in their mothers basement.
