if you going to a walmart or costco type spot you must like punishment.

I went to a Chinese store and a Carribean store after finding out all the big chains were out of rice and beans. Got my rice, black eyed peas, red beans etc for cheap there and they had plenty on the shelf.

No politician here is going to take the hit for essentially nationalizing corporations via federal order, even temporarily, and have their wealthy donors running for the exits. You're going to need a lot more infected, a lot more deaths, footage on network news, footage of crying mothers screaming about why doesn't someone come save them, before that happens. Right now people are more interested in arguing over what the virus is called rather than fixing the problem.
