Out all night aired reruns on bet forever but it was only one season and it came on late if I remember right. If you are under 30 I can see why you never saw it.
Yeah breh, bingo! That's why I didn't know about it.

I wonder why they didn't air this during the day though. This was really good.

They even had smart guy in this and Patti Labelle lol.

Yeah no doubt I miss this time because even nbc, abc and fox were giving black shows chances in the 90s. Only network that didnt was cbs :mjpls:

It's funny cause now even CBS is giving us a chance with The Neighborhood, God Friended Me and Happy Together but those shows are all integrated. They have black male leads but major white characters/Love Interest as well.

They are on there :mjpls:still but more low key about it.

You, clearly. I wouldn’t use ghetto in any connotation when discussin those shows. Cac

Okay, you want macadamia nut or chocolate chip? :pachaha:

Bill Cosby purposely shied away from stereotypes and "street talk" in his shows, meaning even the most subtle thing like saying "nahmean" wasn't allowed on his shows

even the "thugs" or street cats on his shows spoke proper English, remember cousin pam from the hood and her friends? they weren't allowed to use broken english.

as somebody pointed out before, dr alvin poussaint use to go over the scripts - I thought this was well known.

so when i call these shows GHETTO, it's not to shyt on em, because for the 5th time, I watched them too - but they were more hood, more street, had more edge than what MJW was use to.

now would you like to ban bet me for your account or your rep? :coffee:

I honestly can't remember if I watched it in real time,I remember watching it in that WB lineup I believe, along with Jamie Foxx so I think I must have, because I also remember the sudden cancelation. I think it just started out slow and became funnier as seasons went on,the early seasons are pretty corny. But I do remember people loving both the Wayans and Jamie Foxx in real time. Maybe it just depended on your age at the time.

Yes the show did start off pretty bad. We can all pretty much agree the first season of the wayans wasn’t funny at all. The show didn’t really hit its stride until season 3 or ironically when dee got on the show.

Malcolm mentioned this before. He felt the show was tom foolery.

Folks can say what they want about cosby. But the cosby show nor a different world had tom foolery.

Cosby made sure there was a psychiatrist who reviewed the scripts to make sure black stereotypes weren't laced all on the show.
"but but he said we should pull up our pants and take care of our kids:sadbron:"
