It's funny cause now even CBS is giving us a chance with The Neighborhood, God Friended Me and Happy Together but those shows are all integrated. even the "thugs" or street cats on his shows spoke proper English, remember cousin pam from the hood and her friends? they weren't allowed to use broken english.
as somebody pointed out before, dr alvin poussaint use to go over the scripts - I thought this was well known.

Yes the show did start off pretty bad. We can all pretty much agree the first season of the wayans wasn’t funny at all. The show didn’t really hit its stride until season 3 or ironically when dee got on the show.
