Most black entertainment that's approved by white people is c00nish. That's one of the reasons Bill Cosby was hated so much, why his show had to be wiped from our social consciousness, his legacy indelibly tarnished by trumped up charges of raping white women. Malcolm is a positive brother. He looks very healthy and sounds like his head is on right. Glad to see him doing well. :francis:

I can't speak on In the House (never watched it) and I somewhat agree when it comes to The Parkers (even though I love it), but Moesha, at least for the first couple of seasons, was just an edgier, more urban version of The Cosby Show. They weren't trying to present black people like idiots and clowns. Frank had the Saturn dealership and was taking care of Moesha and Myles on his own before he met Dee. He was filled with morals and principles. Moesha made dumb mistakes every now and then like teenagers do, but she was a strong, soulful character with a lot of insight and perspective.

I just can't subscribe to the belief that there's only one way to present the black experience on television. Fresh Prince and Martin are highly regarded shows and they didn't try following the Cosby Show formula. Things have to evolve at some point and adjust with the times. I'm not saying Malcolm's feelings are unjustified, because he clearly wanted to elevate Malcolm & Eddie and UPN wasn't having it, but I believe that as long as the execution is good, there are several different ways to portray black characters on TV.

I mean I hear you, but compared to the cosby show and a different world, those shows were ratchet as fukk - I use to watch em too, but they it was just more hood and dumbed down than what Cosby was doing

and truth be told, I watched malcolm and eddie too, but It did feel weird like malcolm was taking a step backward, even the production values seemed worse than the cosby show for a sitcom

It wasn’t so much a :mjpls: vibe its just that Malcolm and Eddie came from two different worlds.

Malcolm explained it perfectly. He came from The Cosby set. Where Cosby himself was VEHEMENTLY against any type of onscreen display of c00nery or stereotyping. Dude literally said that Cosby was battling for EIGHT YEARS to make sure that no bullshyt got put on that show. So to come to UPN (which MANY people have called a racist stereotyping network) and experience first hand what Cosby was fighting against probably put a bad taste in his mouth.

Sounds like he was inferring that shyt coulda been a LOT worse had he not stuck to his guns
I disagree it was almost like he was saying why does the show need an edge why can't we be like white shows are traditionally? To me two of the best sitcoms of all times are King of Queens and That 70s show. Why can damn near every episode some wild out of control entertaining shyt go on with these types of shows but its tom foolery when the show is black?

:usure: So you telling me they allowed first run episodes then reruns for well over 30 years and a spinoff then one day they decided thats enough?

Sounds like Cosby was on the c00n shyt then. He was a black elitist trying to pretend the hood and poor black people didn't exist in his world. Now here Malcolm is on the same shyt acting like anything hood or defiantly BLACK is automatically c00n shyt:martin:. This is why Hollywood has been trash now, assimilated negroes who only want themselves to be seen in a light that europeans deem "acceptable". Whats wrong with poor black people being funny in the way that poor black people are funny, that maybe cacs can't relate to.

Dude in the video actually had the nerve to call comedy of that era "step and fetch" comedy:martin:?Not Malcolm but the guy who appeared to be homosexual, actually having the nerve to be embarrassed by black comedy of that time:mjlol:
