The more I think about this shyt the worse it makes me feel.
My teachers were blk
Principals were blk
Band directors were blk
Counselors were blk
Dance directors were blk
Art teachers were blk
Drama teachers were blk

But I teach upcoming teachers now at the university and I'll be damned if every one of them aren't white females. The majority of Title 1 schools are comprised of white females from Teach for America programs who leave after two years or quit half way thru their first year teaching.
What is the effect of our children growing up and never seeing blks in leadership positions in their schools and communities?
I didn't have a black teacher until high school, but I also went to Catholic and private school until then. In high school I had two black teachers. In fact, there were only 4 black teachers, two black guidance counselors, and one black vice principal. Mostly black high school, with the other 50% being a mix of white and Hispanic, very few Asians. We need to encourage more young black people to go into teaching.
Don't forget the dijon mustard controversy, and respecting a C level model more than an ivy league educated attorney.

This damn near has made me make my mind up on becoming a teacher.
I've never had the patience to teach, always expecting people to learn as quick as I do... but now, I feel compelled to usurp this shyt. This is fukking infuriating. Thinking of those babies... and I call damn near anyone under 15 that.. they don't deserve this.
If you are like me and still undecided on where to go career wise, just get in the field and teach whoever you can. This can't be accepted and allowed to grow. It will spawn too many scared black children, too many overly bigoted whites and spoil a lot of the progress made in decades of the past.
And to whoever is a covert on this board, reading this post.... fukk YOU, we still are going to fight tooth and nail.

Sorry, but my life isn't consumed by that shyt. I generally can tell who is racist and who isn't. I don't put it past anyone, but I definitely don't suspect everyone, esp not some elementary school teacher, as being a staunch racist.

your decision to go into teaching. I also feel your pain at this news, but we have to grasp the fact that she was only discovered because of a sloppily concealed identity. She is one among a number too large to count, people who hold the same views and aren't so emboldened by this climate that they'll broadcast them on a podcast. Think of how many black boys and girls have been failed by demons like this. It's enough to make you sick to your stomach.

I came in here, saw the story and it lit a fire under my ass. So from my perspective.. you appear to be part of the problem right now. If you truly believe the only way to get things done is to teach at Dr. Umar's school, you are saying that it's OK to leave all the children in public schools behind to fend for themselves versus women like the one in the OP. I can't go for that.
I hope you reconsider your position. Too many children have been and are currently affected by bullshyt like this.

Where in my post did I suggest he's usurping a damn thing? I merely
him for having the resolve to make an attempt at protecting our children from monsters like this. I applaud his effort, no matter futile it may be in this rapidly intensifying climate of open white supremacy we now live in.
