Did integration succeed? Essentially being doomed to be perpetually the bottom rung of the economic ladder is honestly depressing.

integration should have been a long term goal, implemented slowly to allow black industry to survive with its natural competitive advantage.

I mean there was a guy set to do it but he got shot in the head. The President after Lincoln was so horrible he actually made things worse like he set it up so the confederates could get pardoned eventually all but Jefferson Davis did. A lot of confederates later went back into the house and senate setting laws. Worse of all there was black leadership winning elections but their terms were stolen. Think about Juneteenth we celebrate our ancestors finding out they were free THREE YEARS after the fact. The south had the suppression game down. The Malcolm X and KKK thing isn’t new many so called groups that sound like they would hate each other actually have the same goal but people would always get in the way. If it was 2020 and no integration I can’t fathom it. If you spent your whole life some where the local black history will make you angry. There is more than what we know but with no survivors those losses are lost forever.
