This is a known fact the artists and creators based magneto and professor x off of Malcolm and Martin.
The whole mutant war is based on black civil rights.

Yea been known for years. Comics have been dealing with stuff like this since the beginning. Just like the obvious Red Skull=Hitler. Funny thing is I just imagined some dude thats a white supremacist reading this comic and might never make the connection.

How’s this for unexpected territory in a superhero film: “X-Men: First Class” not only uses the Kennedy years, the Civil Rights movement and the Cuban Missile Crisis as a backdrop for its retro tale, the movie’s story of two massively powerful mutants who struggle against bitter prejudice was directly informed by the complicated lives of Malcolm X and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

“It came up early on in the rehearsal period and that was the path we took,” says Michael Fassbender, who stars as the emotionally scarred Erik Lehnsherr, who will become the militant mutant known as Magneto. “These two brilliant minds coming together and their views aren’t that different on some key things. As you watch them you know that if their understanding, ability and intelligence could somehow come together it would be really special. But the split is what makes them even more interesting and tragic.”

‘X-Men: First Class’ star: MLK and Malcolm X influenced our story [updated] | Hero Complex – movies, comics, pop culture – Los Angeles Times

And it appears this wasn't some epiphany for you. :comeon:

You basically stole this thread from a very "nerdy" comic book-centered blog:

Proffessor X = Martin Luther King Jr and Magneto = Malcolm X - Comic Vine

Even stole the fukking title. :dead:

Might have to even things out with a neg. :youngsabo:

You should try out some japanese anime/manga. Some of the stuff has me :blessed:

I used to skim through some in elementary (the perks of having oriental amigos) but never really got into it. Any suggestions?

I stick with Archie comics these days.

That cac said he based it off of the holocaust...

The characters of Xavier and Magneto have even been compared to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Last year, Lee told CNN, "They were meant to emphasize the conflict between people who felt that we've got to all work together and find a way to get along, and people who feel, 'We're not treated well, therefore we're going to strike back with force!' "

When asked about the comparisons, Claremont said, regarding his early work in the 1970s, "It was too close. It had only been a few years since the assassinations. In a way, it seemed like that would be too raw. My resonance to Magneto and Xavier was borne more out of the Holocaust. It was coming face to face with evil, and how do you respond to it? In Magneto's case it was violence begets violence. In Xavier's it was the constant attempt to find a better way."

The secret to 'X-Men's' success - CNN.com

Plus Malcolm X wasn't about "They are treating us bad, lets strike with force" Malcolm X was about "Lets do for self and lets exercise self defense".

I think they try to make Malcolm look like an extremist and at the same time they make Martin look softer than he really was. Martin was on the same "Lets do for self" he just didn't emphasize self defense. But when they talk about Martin, they talk about lets all hold hands and be friends...its demonic how they change their images.
