I remember doing shift work at a bank call center about 10 yrs ago and wishing I'd get into a car accident on the way to work to get some paid leave. I ended up getting some therapy, learning new skills and working with a career coach to transition into a different field. If you're going through this, try to stay calm and make a plan for yourself. There's always a way out :wow:

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
No it's not. :snoop:Y'all keep saying it's the system when that's just not the case all the time. A lot of people are lazy with zero drive. That's the reality of the situation breh and if y'all are so inclined to disagree I'm going to assume ya'll not doing good in life either. Crabs in a barrel.
It’s about being able to sympathize and have empathy for people that are out there working hard, but have no chance to get ahead! Yes, people make bad choices, but just because you are up, it doesn’t mean that everybody should have to live fukked up because they made bad choices. This guy is making a choice to work, and even though he is miserable, and is getting made fun of, he is gonna continue to work. I have been blessed beyond measure, with a dream job, and a salary that lets me and my family live a great lifestyle, but it wasn’t always like this, and my wife has accrued medical debt that if we had to pay it, generations of my family would never be able to get above working poor. It’s not always “bad decisions” when you live in a country where a medical emergency to have you homeless. Our definitions of “crabs in the barrel” differ, I thought it was when somebody is up, you try to pull them down, not when you are up, you kick down at the folks that are just trying to get up, as well, I didn’t say anything about not being happy for the folks that are up, just that I have it in my heart to want better for other people.

This hit hard because I’ve been there. I don’t know what job he has but for me it was retail (garden centre type work) and it was hell on earth.

Physically tough, plus I was dealing with poor health at the time. Staff were WEIRD, they were all related or fukking each other, it was a village within a building - truly bizzarre. There was a show that came on BBC2 called The League of Gentlemen, watch a clip guys. That was my workplace.

You sink or swim. I had to level up. Tbh, what motivated me more was not the actual shyt job but the staff, I refused to be them and if I failed that was my destiny.

My mother regularly jokes with me about that job but she also says that job made me a MAN. What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger definitely applies. When it comes to working life… NOTHING phases me. Thinking about it now makes me shudder. In a weird way, I am grateful for those weirdos now.

I wish my guy the best and hope he has an exit plan. He can’t let that shyt get him posting online, his colleagues could see that.

I’m saying, this shyt is heartbreaking, and it’s millions of folks out here living like this, on the edge of their seats, pay check to pay check, zero quality of life, working to live, the working poor. You should not have to suffer for the rest of your life just to maintain a spot to rest your head and eat. They have taken everything, there is no such thing as affordable housing, whole entire generations of folks will never know home ownership. How are people supposed to build a foundation for their family while they are living in quicksand. This country need to rise up and fukking hold these people accountable once and for all.
This.
Real Estate is still the GOAT investment, never forget that.

It's not just generational wealth, it's a roof on your head when you're old and your stable income ain't that much anymore. Not needing to worry about rent is a blessing.

I don't know how I'll make that bread, but long-term, that's the goal. Secure a roof for my family. :wow:

As for this dude... It really sucks. You gotta focus on what you can do instead of what you can't do tho. If he's having breakdowns like this, his mental health is already damaged, and the worst thing he can do is sink further in.

He gotta check his resumé, learn something to put on it, and keep working on an exit plan.

I don’t know why he’s crying just quit. If you’re ever in a position where you’re crying because you have to go to work then just bounce homie because you only have one life.
Agreed. It’s mad easy to get a job nowadays.

But we need more context lol

Who told you that crying and releasing emotions is bad as a 'grown folk'?
Men take action, not recording themselves crying, over a job, that presumably, is allowing him to provide for himself.

Breaking down like that is weak, just like when Jalen Rose was crying on tv like a little kid. There is a time and place for it, that's all. Certain things are not for the world to see and you know it.

It takes discipline to work hard and improve yourself, which is how we make our lives easier as we get older. Many people lack the will to overcome adversity in their lives, whether it was their fault or unforeseen circumstances. It is your life and your own responsibility to fix it.

Crying on the internet is not helping his cause.
