my dad does this. he also saves every soda can and when he gets enough sells them at scrap yards.
This same nikka will spend $70 on some ck perfume.

My grandfather (RIP) used to have me do this with him. All them damn soda cans and throw them on the back of his F-150 and go to the scrap yard.

My grandfather taught me a lot but this is one thing I refused to do as I got older.

My pops used to do this too..i still do it..i take it to the beer garden and the return usually gets me a 12 pack or a few cases of water

I cosign doing those, though he should have sold off the older pennies and only deposited the pennies after 82 (all the pennies before 82 were 95% copper and are much more valuable).

Not that much more valuable. You will get maybe 20% more value for a bucket of pre-1982 pennies than you would for regular pennies. But i guess for him an extra 500 bucks or more would do a lot of good.

Did yall even read the story? It wasn't about him saving or collecting pennies for monetary value it was cause he looked at pennies as a small blessing from God and it reminded him to pray.
Now his homie who was collecting nickels
