I was pissed at first, but once you play as Abby and find out her dad was the doctor, her tee'ing off on Joel's skull was completely justified imo

Like the whole thing was nonsense, needing to kill Ellie to get a sample, not doing any more tests or interview etc, like it was extremely lazy and silly, but still from the pov of the game, even if it means a tiny chance for a cure the sacrifice was worth it and Joel choose one person over the rest of humanity.
Having said all that, these one some of the easier zombies to kill, you would thing the military and milicias would just put speakera outside the zones and fish in a barrel the zombies.
