Oh there's no doubt there is a payoff planned, for now.

The problem is DB momentum is in WWE long term booking (and execution) hands and they haven't been able to deliver on that part since when? Batista in 05'?

There's a clear storyline on the way and Bryan will be in the center of it for at least a couple of months. How they book him, how he performs (the least of my worries, honestly) and how will the crowd react to this angle will determine if D-Bry can be a main player come Mania season. I'm glad he's the protagonist in this, at least in the beginning, but I just can't trust their booking

7 Years for that heel turn....this leads to WM XXX but goodness gracious...it's hard to watch. They might do Bryan vs Cripple H as a distraction match before he gets legit payback on Blandy too. He has some levels to go through to keep him busy until Royal Rumble 2014.

Although it's highly likely he wont win a match against HHH, it'll probably be a great bout. The only way Hunter has a good performance is if he's working heel and we know DB can have an awesome match with pretty much anyone.
