Police: Man has sex with dog as shocked neighbors watch

A Tampa man was arrested early Wednesday, accused of committing a sex act with a pit bull in his yard as shocked neighbors pleaded with him to stop.
Bernard Marsonek, 57, of 8125 N. Marks St., faces charges of aggravated animal cruelty, two counts of being a felon in possesion of a firearm, all felonies; and a misdemeanor count of sexual activity involving animals.
Officers said they were flagged down by witnesses, who observed Marsonek with the dog. Officers were met by residents disturbed by the activity, police said. Several witnesses stated they yelled at Marsonek to stop but were ignored by the neighbor, police said.
The officers found Marsonek inside his house and interviewed him.
Hillsborough County Animal Services responded to the scene and executed a search warrant at the home. Police said a gun and ammunition were seized during the search.
Animal Services investigators took custody of eight large pit bulls on the property, police said.
