Read the book in 2022

Tom Wolfe's best maybe, and a stunning portrayal of Atlanta, that has some issues, due to Tom Wolfe being a privilged white guy, but it's an accurate look. Just following Atlanta loosely over the years, BMF, scandals, RICO indictments, it's all in the book, the mixture of politics, race, crime, I mean that's ANY city but Atlanta is unique because of it's past and proximity to the Jim Crow South and the 1700's.

They changed several major storylines which not only affect the ending but doesn't make it a racial powder keg as it should be

The book was also frequently fukking hilarious. The character of the businessman/real estate tyc00n, also has a lot of implications about America's obsession with powerhouse businessmen, the shadiness of big business, America's reliance on debt and borrowing, and consumption, keeping up appearances.

Saw that it was David E Kelly

I liked The Undoing

ending was way too soapy but the scope of this material and his style could be not something I would be interested in.

I don't know who I thought to play the ex wife, but you can't get no better than Diane Lane

Yeah I was left wondering wtf the point of all this was.

Also, the whole trial/jail stuff felt like a totally different show and unrelated to the main plot
I haven't finished the show but I read the book.
Coker just gave up and let the banks have it, he we t iff to be a hipster/hermit with (they changed this on the show, the black guy in trouble with the law was an immigrant that ended up as Coker's personal servant), there was a different rape charge on a current Georgia Tech RB, he was in the sane room with the chick, all hands team then they got interrupted, it wasn't rape in 1999. The mayoral race was something they added for the show, the mayor pondered his future and said being a senator was a step down, he said if Andrew Young couldn't be governor, no black man could be governor.
