CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The brother of a pedestrian critically hurt in a crash has been arrested for allegedly killing the driver who hit him, according to the police department.

Morrow Police said 20-year-old Jonathan Johnson is facing charges.

Last Friday, officers responded to a "person struck by a vehicle" call at the 1500 block of Mt. Zion Road. When officers arrived, they found a man hit by a car. Lying next to him was 28-year-old Antramico Williams, who had been shot multiple times, Morrow Police said.

Witnesses at the scene said they saw a third man get into an argument with Williams while he was standing over the pedestrian – who was unresponsive.

The man screamed at Williams and said he was the pedestrian's brother. He became angry that Williams had allegedly hit his brother with his car, according to Morrow Police. Police said Williams was the registered owner of the car that had struck the pedestrian.

Authorities said Johnson then took out a pistol from his waistband and started shooting Williams at close range. Investigators collected 13 shell casings from the scene. The Clayton County Sherrif's Office said Williams had been shot approximately eight times – with two shots to the head and one shot through his temple.

Morrow Police said Johnson took off – leaving his critically hurt brother and Williams' body along Mt. Zion Road. He's currently in custody at the Clayton County Jail and faces murder and aggravated assault charges.

Authorities said the brother remains at Grady Hospital. The police department said the Williams' family lost another son to gun violence in 2019.

"The Morrow Police Department would like to thank everyone involved in the investigation including the MARTA Criminal Investigations Unit, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad, the Cobb County Police SWAT team, and Cobb County Police VIPER Unit," the police department wrote on its Facebook page.

Based on what?

Police and ambulance were already called and coming. More calls aren't going to make them drive faster.

Brother is in the hospital critical. You never ever move a person that's been hit by a car or in an accident.

What's he supposed to do stay and pray?

First. Why is the first thing people do is up the steel :mjtf:

Second. Learn to control your emotions. Now his brother dead and he lookin at murder 1. Two families destroyed when possibly his brother could’ve survived. The time it took to up and pull and argue he could’ve been getting his brother help :snoop:

Edit: I see ambulance and police were already called.

Nikka what? Based on the fact he dumped 13 shots into a man at close range over an argument after an accident. It ain’t about staying and praying or moving him but being attentive and making sure his brother stays calm. Making sure the authorities get a proper statement and his brother receives proper care. The hell is wrong with some of y’all? :what:

His brother was laying in the street unconscious. You don't have to be a doctor to see your sibling laying in the street and think he's dead or going to die.

Dude went off on the guy that hit him with his car.

Was it the right thing to do? No. Was it wrong of him to react that way? Yeah

The statement "he cares more about his ego than getting his brother help" is flawed. There's absolutely nothing he could have done to assist his brother more in that situation and his actions didn't didn't do anything to detract from the aid that was coming.

That's bullshyt. Your brother is laying unconcious and the only thing you can do to help the situation is create an even worse one? My statement is completely valid and displays that both you and him lack situational awareness. I've been in situations like this and me being present and relaying information to paramedics upon arrival made their jobs easier. Is the brother breathing? Where was he hit? Is he bleeding? He could have called his family and told them he was en route to the hospital, etc. This kind of information matters. Unless a person is dead you absolutely can do something to assist them. Everything he did in that situation was for him...If he could have put his ego aside, he would be at his brothers bedside, and not about to do LSU vs Texas A&M football numbers.
