I just don't see it that way but who knows. It just doesn't sound like something meticulously planned. Because in the video it seems there's this quiet panic like he was running out of time and was scared that the police would intervene. He talks about not going to jail, says nothing about not getting caught. But then again there have been crimes of passion where it happened in the moment, then the person panics, flees and then the police show up and there is a stand off, sometimes resulting in death. I know from first hand experience, as a high school neighborhood friend stabbed his ex girlfriend to death out of jealousy, panicked, drove across town to his parents house (my neighborhood) and then barricaded himself until the police arrived. This situation reminds me of that incident.
You're describing a person that's thinking logically, when people "snap", they're not concerned with consequences. Even his suicide was a function of him not wanting to go to jail, not because he didn't want to be here anymore. He demonstrated that he was thinking through and through and the only person he was thinking of was himself.
