Nah. This ain’t a parenting issue. Kids have been going to the store, to school, to their friends house alone since the beginning of time. My 13yr should be able to go to the corner store and get a bag of chips without having to duck shots.

I will say, 5 is too young to be outside without a parent. But still, kids should be able to be outside in peace.

No it is a parenting issue. You can’t raise your children on what they “should” be able to do, you have to deal with the world as it is. And you just can’t let kids roam the way we used to. Not by themselves.
