Beating children only causes resentment down the road. There are better (more efficient) ways of disciplining a child.Or maybe just maybe the kid shouldn't steal.
If I did something like that my mom whooped the shyt out of me. I'd rather lose the XBox.

In this age of recording everything from setting yourself on fire challenges to recording yourself harrassing the homeless...I have no problem with someone recording discipline, and why the kid was disciplined.
I should have waited and got the PS4, but I foolishly got the Wii U () because I wanted Mario Kart. Man that system sucked ass. A total waste of money.
No, I'm black and I got beatings from my father as a child. I often went to school with bruises, welts, and a fat lip (once). Mind you these beatings were completely out of line, and a result of his misplaced anger. I would have teachers, students, and staff question my bruises at school which forced me to make up lies. It was super embarrassing. I have no relationship with my father now that I'm an adult, and thats part of the reason why. I'm totally against the beating of children because of what I went through as a kid.You white?

Theres levels to discipline though. I remember in my Intro to Psychology class that there is like a science to disciplining children that will condition them better than a beating will. I really do think we should get away from beatings though. I know everyone's environment is different, but I feel like a parent should avoid beating his/her kid at all costs.
It starts early far as the respect and child rearing goes.
There has to be some middle ground though. Disciplining a child so that he/she responds to the word "no," but not to the point that causes long term resentment.
