Wanting waves is the same as wanting loose curly or straight hair. It's all colorism really. The lusting after and wanting a texture of hair that is "less black." Guys actually get clowned for having naturally kinky hair instead of waves. The same way girls get picked on and looked down upon for having kinky hair instead of loose wavy or curly hair.
