Most people couldn't give two fukks about customization, so now that IPhones have bigger screens and more Android phones are starting to drop extra storage, There isn't much different besides the OS.

have you tried putting a sd card in an iphone lately or did you pay for extra storage? Had a battery issue yet? Bet if you did you went through a hassle to resolve the issue...any battery problem I ever had wasc fixed with about $5 and 3-4 days of waiting for the mail to come.Ever go to click a download link and be like "wait a minute, I can't..."
