1) offense is defense - that pretty much describes manny pacquiao..just because he doesn't use the shell doesn't make someone defense deficient..no singular type of defense is the best..the best defense is something that plays to a fighter's specific strengths and style...in manny's case his speed and power to successfully nullify his opponents offensive output..you don't have the victories over the type of fighters he has and his fight record and say he has no defense..offense as defense is something even utilized as a main philosophy in other fighting styles outside of boxing..you can only slip, parry, roll, dodge, duck, bob & weave ,or block so many times in a fight you'll still get tagged and then you have to find some way to end the fight..manny just cuts to the chase and excelled
