The same thing happened to the mid-‘90s Mariners. Griffrey, A-Rod, Edgar, Buhner, and Randy Johnson but an absolute dogshyt bullpen.
Mariners even traded young Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe for Heathcliff Slocumb in ‘97 because they were so desperate for relief.
A bad bullpen will fukk up a stacked team.
