According to their definition a hate group: "All hate groups have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics."

I think they're saying the bolded applies to NOI because they're separatist, and like to talk about how cacs are the devil and shyt...that would be the "malign" part of it

That way they don't have to be going around terrorizing/physically attacking/killing people like the KKK did, in order to fit the definition of a hate group
