I disagree with the assessment that Ethiopia was colonized. It was certainly occupied by Italy, just as France was occupied by Germany during the Second World War II. Though, I think the word 'colonized' is an exaggeration. The 'colonization' lasted from 1935/6 to 1941. Not that long to impact Ethiopian culture or governmental structures.
