This is absolutely brutal. They had a livestream scheduled but couldn't show shyt because they're auditing all of their visual assets :dead: The art director basically got put through a live humiliation ritual apologizing for the stolen artwork :picard:

timestamped

Yeah, it's fukking OVER.:russ:

Nishino and Totoki about to GUT these losers after Midathon flops. :blessed:

Soon-to-be Ex-Bungie devs better get ready to code Factions 2 on the Naughty Dog engine.

Bungie got lucky and hit a very addictive gameplay loop, but everything else they’ve done post halo has been kinda trash.

Even though people played the hell out of Destiny the games own fans describe themselves as masochists for playing it

There’s nothing personal or passionate about their game development. Just numbers for numbers sake.

Looks like their numbers are running out :francis:

The whole “bungie killed factions“ thing is becoming just as unhinged as the TLOU2 sub reddit
but its true tho :manny:

they got brought in primarily because of their live service 'expertise' when they haven't done anything of significance to bring in new players in years. and then bungie had the nerve to tell ND that Factions 2 was financially unsustainable when Destiny has become so creatively bankrupt that they have to sell content with a Star Wars label to fund undercooked seasonal content deliveries

its wild to say 'activision was right' but at this point its clearly the truth

no all that was reported is

Bungie raised questions about the The Last of Us multiplayer project’s ability to keep players engaged for a long period of time, which led to the reassessment.”
Through a second hand, unsubstantiated rumor.

And the internet hype machine turned that into “BUNGEE KILLED FACTIONS”

Its mostly just scapegoating ND obvious failure :smh:

They did the same shyt in Destiny's at a lesser scale in regards to stealing ppls artwork

Artist said she can't afford a lawyer but I hope she tries any way

Bungie's in even bigger trouble this time because before it was contractors plagiarizing. This time it's actually the Bungie employed art team.

multiple interviews on the topic. i don't pick and choose the cac tweets - yal do :pachaha:

There was reporting at the time that Bungie had been brought in to use their live service expertise, and the game was cancelled not all that long after that. There’s this refrain that “Bungie cancelled The Last of Us Online,” but that isn’t exactly true. From what Yoshida says, it was more like Bungie talked to Naughty Dog, who then realized they should cancel the game themselves, along with consultation with Sony.

Yoshida, despite saying that when he played The Last of Us Online it was “great,” says that “Bungie explained what it takes to make live service games, and Naughty Dog realised, ‘Oops, we can’t do that! If we do it, we can’t make Intergalactic.’ So that was a lack of foresight.” A very expensive “oops!" that cost years of development resources and tens of millions of dollars, no doubt.
bungie telling anyone what it takes to make live service games and resource them appropriately is ludicrous. their funny money valuation, the sudden mass cancelation of internal projects, and current situations with layoffs and lawsuits.... they shouldn't be consulting shyt. or just do the opposite of what they do

That still doesn’t say bungee killed factions.

It says ND decided they didn’t want to dedicate the manpower needed for a successful GAAS.

And to me it comes off as a silly excuse because it’s a surprise to no one that successful GAAS titles take hundreds/thousands of devs constantly pumping out content.

They didn’t need bungies “expertise” to tell them that
