Seems Bungie want this to be for a small amount of players. The players that enjoy this type of game will say its good but if the players keep dropping at the current rate then there won't be anyone to play with. That's the downside when you make a niche live service game.

They felt themselves and gambled they could Destiny-ize the extraction shooter, and lost, at least short term. It's a quality game, but not mass market in the slightest. Sweaty PVP heads are enjoying it, but that's about it.

If they can't reign in the cheaters, it's fukked.

If they can't figure out a way to get casuals interested without chasing the sweats away, they're fukked. Or, it'll die slowly from unprofitability.

I respect the effort, but the genre is dead wrong, and the execution was trash. They all but killed the proven cash cow that prints money for a game that can't sustain itself.

Yeah good reviews make no difference. You need players and the player count has been haemorrhaging consistently. The game has already lost half the players they had on release and its not even been out for a month. Had this been lesser known studio the game would be dead already.
