If you look at the contract in terms of just Gortat...then yeah...he is overpaid...

But...if you look at it in the context of a frontcourt of Gortat and Nene...then this deal is at worst "just fine"...Wiz will have the best frontcourt in the east...one of the best in the league...and both guys can score in the post and inside...both guys hit the boards hard...Nene is guaranteed to miss at least 20 games due to injury, so when that happens at least now the wiz have another big man who can get them some points inside...they were looking real :paflabtricknsickewing: without Nene last year when he was hurt...

At some point in the game you will have to probably double at least one of them for stretches...meaning Beal is gonna be eating real good on open looks...

They just need to work on their spacing a bit...or Wall needs to get a consistent jumpshot

This is a good move for the Wiz...AS LONG AS THEY DON"T OVERPAY FOR ARIZA...

Beal will be gone :sas1:

If you take the $5 mil increase per year, you're looking at the cap being around $74 million by 2016. That's being conservative, it could jump with the new TV deal but I see that happening a year later. I believe between Wall, Gortat, Porter, and two draft picks you're looking at about $36 million in total salaries. Add another $5.8 million from Webster if he follows through on his games played and it's $33 million in cap room should they renounce anyone they have on the roster at that time.

Give Beal an extension that starts at $13 million, we'd have $20 million to throw at Kevin Durant.

If Webster misses 62 games between now and then, then we'd have around $26 million to throw at Durant.

The Ariza contract that's coming is the biggest wild card but moving the pieces shouldn't be too difficult.

Can wizards pull off a nene and otto for love and martin swap before the season? Draft is over and wolves are running out of options

They get 2 starters and dump martins contract

PG wall/miller
SG beal/martin
SF ariza/ webster(after all-star break)
PF love/ gooden
C gortat/ seriphin

I don't think the heat would have the talent to compete :lupe:

Not my fault idiot why the fukk would they let Beal walk anyway. :smh:
Cause like I said I didnt see the Wizards owner who is a hawk and was pushin hard for a hard cap during the lockout, payin Gortat 12 mill, Ariza 9-10, Wall gettin the max and Beal who will command the max..

Martin has 3 years left on his deal. No thanks.

I'd love to dump Nene on Sacramento though.
