people (casual stat obsessed fans/media types) finally stopped gassing up texas tech qbs since leach left, when will we stop gassing up oregon qbs? every single year its "yeah the past qbs in this system were pretty good, but the one playing right now is the real deal"

Mariota is going to break the mould(Oregon system QB). This dude is the real deal.. This hawanian is going to be styling(oh ya, I went for the cheap rhyming joke) on the nation for a few years to come...

But let's get back on topic. Mariota is a red shirt freshman, who is better then him, and who will be better then him in the next 3 years(moves goal posts a little)?

With his size and his cool, who is fukking Mariota right now? Geno and Klein, and that is about it...

Name your QB's better then Mariota. He is top 3 for sure..

Three pages of posts...

And the only names mentioned that are better then Mariota, is Klein and Geno...

Yup, Mariota is the best QB in the nation, or top 3 at worse ... :obama:

The ducks run a one word O. The Pats run a one word O when they go no Huddle. You think it is coincidence the Pats drafted two RB's in rounds 2 and 3 two years ago. And that the Pats are running the Ball the most they have since they had corey dillion. And do really think the Pats drafted Ridley and Vareen only to run the "Ray Perkins" O(the O the Pats ran from 2001 till 06).... :comeon:

Beli has worked with Chip, like he worked with Myer and his spread(starting in 2004, implemented in 07).

New England Patriots using complex no-huddle offense - NFL.com

Yes the Pats are running Chips O when they're in the no huddle. This is not really up for debate, it is pretty obvious. And looking back on the draft choices of the Pats on the O side of the ball, it leads right back to Chips O...

I know they're using the uptempo, 1-word playcalling.......that's not the same thing as "they're running Oregon's offense"

Man, I'm a fan. This kid to me is the real deal. These throws right here show the makings of someone special.

0:40 cannon arm with accuracy and a high release right over the line, nearly effortless.
0:57 good throw from the pocket.
2:25 soft pass for a touchdown, didn't try to blast the target from close range.
2:56 :ooh: great touchdown pass on the run, to his left, right at the back of the endzone
3:30 good pocket awareness to scramble after progressing through reads
4:16 pretty throw
4:28 great decision to pass after that scramble. Reminded me of RG3's throw vs NYG.
4:39 :whew: you can't deny his arm after that throw. If that's not a throw only elite QB's make, I don't know what is.
5:07 another good throw on the run
5:27 good progress through reads while staying cool in the pocket, then decided to scramble.

Sure you can say the competition that game was weak, but you can't deny his arm talent. Already I'll say he can make any throw in the league. He's got power (I read he could throw the ball 70 yards as a sophomore in highschool) and touch.
