That's why I leave my car keys in my car, in the ignition. And I don't EXPECT anyone to steal it.

Of course, if someone DOES steal it, it is absolutely not my fault, and no one should say a WORD to me about me leaving my keys in the ignition.

NOT A WORD.

By the way, I also leave my checkbook out on the counter while at a bar . . . and all my Credit Cards.

But, if something happens to these things, I don't want to hear a SINGLE WORD about the fact that I left them out in a public place.

NOT A WORD.

As for athletes giving interviews, focus on yourself and your sport; we respect you because of your talent and hard work, not your opinion on court cases.

Athletes are about as qualified(dumb) as the rest of the motherfukkers who speak on court cases, pop culture, education, politics and everything in between. Shut up and play ball always sounded to me like be quite ****** and do your job.

Personally if I was rich and a physical specimen like most athletes you couldn't pay me enough to shut up. lol[/QUOTE]

That's exactly what it is "be quiet ****** and do your job" same with whites as well. You're paid to play sports, not give your opinion on events or other people. I feel like professional athletes are just like normal people, we all have opinions; but 9/10 do we give them when they're negative or simply unimportant or irrelevant to the conversation? No, and if we do we're looked at as idiots or pricks; in no way would I speak on someone or a rape case while being interviewed knowing that it's going to result in some sort of backlash. Those kind of things are meant to be spoken about in private, like Kanye said "I'm on TV talking like it's just you and me". Just because you have the media outlet doesn't mean you should always express your feelings; especially ones that are negative.

it should be common knowledge by now that serena is a grade A cornball/moron but she's also the GOAT female tennis player so she gets a pass :manny:

most of the computer using western world does just this. Not saying its right, but its our reality.

I can respect that you dont care what pro athletes think and maybe you feel they shouldn't share personal thoughts on various topics, but there are plenty of individuals that appreciate hearing what pro athletes have to say whether the topic be on the court, or off. We like to know they are aware and have opinions on life outside of their profession.
Im thankful that pro athletes of the past, and (not as often) present have spoken on topics that they "shouldn't", or have said things that the general public didn't accept at the time. I like when athletes don't follow the "be quiet ******" suggestion, hopefully they have info on the topic before they speak on it though.

Now i dont believe serena meant to offend the family, but she may have misspoke, or her response could have been edited. Was she asked or did she bring up the topic on her own? If she wasn't asked, i can understand and agree with :umad:, but if shes asked a question, i say she should answer as honestly as possible IF she has knowledge on the topic.
