Republican Congress gonna double down on federal laws![]()
I doubt it. The momentum is heavily in favor of national legalization now.

Momentum is in favor of a lot of things. Republicans don't care. If anything if there is momentum for something the GOP opposes it. Look at gay rights for exampleI doubt it. The momentum is heavily in favor of national legalization now.

Bro my governor signed HB-2 and stood by it while we lost all kinds of money. Look at how many Republicans supported Kim DavisI don't see Repubs repealing gay rights. I do see them repealing tranny rights.
Repubs are pro-business. If theres enough momentum for legalization (which there is IMO) then they will be onboard to make some money and bring jobs to America. Banning pot or attacking it on the federal level is counter productive to business interests.

Stop trying to predict what the GOP based on their bullshyt principles and actually go off what they do. They are happy to lose money over religion as that is what keeps them elected. They are happy to pick winners and losers (like corn/ethanol) if the lobbying and donations are generous enough. They are happy with deficits as long as they fund the military and corporate/rich people tax breaks. GOP does not practice theoretical conservatism in any capacity
Pot legalization laws are at the state level. Congress can't repeal them.Thats fine, why do you think they will repeal Marijuana laws?

Pot legalization laws are at the state level. Congress can't repeal them.
But pot legalization laws are in direct conflict with federal law. All Congress has to do is get the executive branch to start enforcing laws already on the books again. Politically it would benefit them- look at this map:

The grey states do not have any kind of legal pot action. Those states are also the GOP's base. Pot is a negative in red states so the GOP getting tough on it again would be a boon. It would also be another prong in the GOP + it's base's fight to drag America back to 1946, and an opportunity to be "tough on crime" (read: use LE to go after blacks).
Plus you talk about the GOP going with momentum.... Trump did not win the popular vote, and most if not all of the GOP's gains in congressional and state house legislatures came from their aggressive gerrymanding in 2010. GOP KNOWS it doesn't represent the will of the people, which is why it has to resort to political gamesmanship to push shyt through and acquire/retain positions. If congressional district maps were compact the GOP would be DOA in the House.

GOP's base is still not budging (southeast)
Theres certainly a chance what you're saying will happen, but i think its highly unlikely. The Bible Belt is slowly coming around. Florida just passed medical by like 70/30. Georgia has limited medical marijuana allowed. Kentucky, Texas, and SC are going either medical or rec in the next election.
This is news to me.... link?
wont matter. the fed laws will only affect big time growers or the pot stores. which is who they were shutting down even after is was deemed legal here in cali to sell medical herb. The feds are not driving around the streets of cali like beat cops arresting youngins blowing some herb. thats why i voted yes on that cali prop. i havent blown smoke in a long time so it wasnt for me. And no i dont think anyone NEEDS to get high. But i surely dont think people need to go to jail or get records behind blowing herb. but again, now the beat cops cant touch you.Republican Congress gonna double down on federal laws![]()
