Can’t believe the magic declined his option

I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm an expert on Doncic but I see him as a SF - a point forward type with a Turkoglu type floor and a 6'8 Ginobli type of ceiling. He looks like a guy who just knows how to play. Some things you just can't teach...intangibles, like his IQ. He controls the tempo and has a moxie and fire in him that makes it easy for me to believe in him. I can him playing a central role in today's NBA an even possibly being able to guard 4s and small 5s. Where a guy a like Ayton can be played off the floor in today's NBA.Jokic plays the one position where you can be big and slow and still be a great player.
Doncic is being billed as a pg but he doesn't have NBA pg quickness or athleticism. The only truly elite skill he has is his passing. His handle is not NBA pg level, much less elite. So how is he supposed to run an offense when he's gonna be matched up against super quick elite athletes with better handles? There arent any of those in his Euro league and athleticism isn't something you can really "work on" like that. Skills like shooting and dribbling you can improve with hard work, but then you factor in the arrogance and immature attitude and it's just too many red flags.

Ginobili is a HoF'erYou don't waste 1st overall picks on a player with a Ginobili ceiling.

You can find athletic centers. The NBA is littered with centers. Go get Clint Capela (who is a good, athletic defensive center who is actually getting played off the floor against an elite team, just like Gobert was). Even Embiid and Towns were held in check against elite defenses. I’m not sure center is the best position to splurge on when the NBA is going smaller and smaller. Especially since you guys don’t have many playmakers to get him the ball. You don't waste 1st overall picks on a player with a Ginobili ceiling. With Ayton's elite athleticism he won't be played off the floor. Everybody likes to say he is an awful defender but they don't realize he was playing PF at Arizona. He never got a chance to play center often because of Ristic playing center and Sean Miller not wanting to have him come off the bench.
The Suns have never had a good center. Ayton is a better fit for the Suns along with potentially providing a balanced attack on offense.
Ayton's defense can be fixed. Doncic slow speed and lack of athleticism can not.

You’re selling Ginobli short btw. He’s won at basically every level. If he starred on his own team in his prime, he would have been at least a 25/5/5 guy. He was Harden before Harden.
