Later this month, Mario Kart 8 will get its first DLC package. Sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, it’ll include three vehicles from the past and present Mercedes line-up… for FREE!
A video has released in Japan containing footage of all three vehicles in action. The three cars are confirmed to be the 300 SL Roadster, W 25 Silver Arrow, and GLA, meaning there is some variety despite it all coming from one car manufacturer. It’s more than just a visual addition as each of these vehicles will have their own stats.
Additionally, Cheesemeister3k on Twitter has translated the Nintendo Japan website which has information regarding the Mercedes-Benz DLC and an update that will arrive alongside it on the same day. The key details of the update are the following:
- 8/27 update to add map display on the TV screen, 3 free Mercedes-Benz karts: GLA, W25 Silver Arrow, 300 SL Roadster.
- Records screen w/ total coins, online win-loss record, character selection rates, etc. being added. Improved online stability.
- Default menu selection following GP changing to next race. Last used kart customization added to save. Edit others’ highlights.
The update and Mercedes-Benz DLC will be released on August 27th at no cost.
Finally. I need some new tracks too. These new ones don't have as much replay value as the ones on Mario Kart Wii.
