"If they would want to have, as a team, their feelings aired on our JumboTron before a game rather than trying to make a point through a secondary action, whether it's taking knees, joining arms, whatever it may be, let's just say what's on our mind and just be clear to fans what we think," Cuban told CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" on Monday, "and if we can take it from there and start a discussion in our community, then that's a good thing."

Colin Kaepernick made it crystal fukking clear why he was kneeling, Mr Cuban.

Here:

(The WAPO opinion piece yesterday seeks to contrast Tebow’s kneeling with Kaep’s, but since the quote was posted most recently here that’s why I cited it)

Perspective | Colin Kaepernick vs. Tim Tebow: A tale of two Christians on their knees Perspective | Colin Kaepernick vs. Tim Tebow: A tale of two Christians on their knees Perspective | Colin Kaepernick vs. Tim Tebow: A tale of two Christians on their knees

He explains, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

So you tell me, what is unclear about that???

There's no point in an open mic if the other side isn't going to join in to create an actual dialogue. The point the protests have been trying to address have been overly stated many times. Ball has been in the other sides court for a while now and that side has deflected it into an Anti-Trump Anti-American thing instead of discussing the actual issues of inequality and injustice.

i disagree with this idea....players tell fans what they think all the time in interviews, blogs, twitter, etc......so letting people know what's on their minds isnt the issue...this is a bullshyt way to try to tell them how to protest in a way that doesnt offend/upset him/others....which defeats the whole purpose....

the issue is people willfully not listening/paying attention to what the players are saying because they dont like the content....all this would do would be another way for them to not listen...they'd ignore the vid being played on the jumbotron before the game the same way they do the national anthem....
