if you are told how to protest, it isnt really your protest anymore

Im sure Rosa Parks was told by many she couldve protested by not being on the bus.

:wtf:
Original point is this white billionaire owner, whether he is racist or not, is giving his players the opportunity to speak up. To use their voice. Not just kneel but to actually have the freedom to voice their opinions however they feel without losing their job over it. I salute that which falls in line with what my cousin have said about him over the past years, which is Mark Cuban is a man who gives his workers the opportunity to speak up and voice their opinions whether he agree or disagree. I dont know Mark Cuban but me having been around Cacs in high position and knowing they would never do that, I salute him for that. Are you confused still or we need to keep having more dialogue. I was never caping for the Cuban but more so defending my cousin who I know is a real one and constantly put his money and life on the line to help people in any way possible.

why cant it be both tho ? why does cuban have to say 'rather than' ? this is a key part there.

hes saying, dont do this but do that.

if he was feeling what players are really trying to do, hed say you know what, you should be protest however the fukk you want, AND Id give everyone opportunity to speak. then Id have no quarrel with his statement.

what he appears to be trying to do is damage control on the cac side and try to appease the other side (black players). it really feels slimy to me.

:mindblown:

What the hell does this have to do with this point? :dahell:

Having situational awareness of worrying about a man in a hoodie should NOT be used to justify the long and storied racism Donald Sterling displayed against the black collective. Cuban tried to do just that.

The fukk is wrong with you? :mindblown:

Did he NOT do this? You straight justified that trash and want to call ME a c00n?

:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol: nikka they dont need a fukkng "opportunity" from the owner to use their voice. They got twitter, IG, media interviews to use their voice whether Cuban likes it or not. You think Dan Gilbert gave Bron an opportunity to shyt on Trump on twitter? No, Bron did it on his own. FOH:mjlol:

A player saying something on the fukking Jumbotron dont mean shyt, the media wouldnt even report on that shyt

Bro thank you. I like the way you came at me without disrespect. I definitely agree with you. He shouldn't be playing both sides. But he is white. He will never fully go against white people. No cac will. I salute him for the opportunity of his players getting a chance to speak more so hoping that one of those players use that big opportunity to reiterate the real reason why the protest started and to help motivate other players to have the confidence to really speak out so we can further more advances with the protests. Once these players see how much powerful their voices are in unity, they will then see how much better they can control their image and their bogus ass contracts and other major things outside of their sport. Same as us blacks in other various fields. Also it will instill more pride and dialogue amongst our youth as well, which I already see. I can see this bringing on an economical shift in the black communities, which is what we need to happen badly. This protest has led to the confederate flag and statues coming down. We keep this up and we can do some serious damage in other things that need to be address. I was just comparing Cuban providing that outlet to what my cousin said about him and these coli kufi extremists took it to a whole other level. Dude a white billionaire shyt he could easily be on some jerry jones shyt right now. I love the kneeling from the players and people but we need to advanced our methods of protesting as well because the cacs coming up with methods to make the kneeling less significant and change the narrative. They got big help from punk ass Trump.

Yea its plenty ways to voice your opinion but I like what he is doing with the jumbotron. shyt i wish I could have gave a malcolm x type short speech at the colisuem when I played at USC. To the average person, them speaking on the jumbotron may not mean much. But to them players, i guarantee that means alot to them especially if they feel strong and passionate about getting our messags across.

When did you play at USC?

I dont see how in the modern day say something on a Jumbtron is somehow more meaningful than just making a video and putting it on twitter. You're reaching millions of more people getting your message across protesting or using social media than a Jumbotron from for 18,000 mostly cac fans.

If Mark Cuban let's players get the Jumbotron thats great, but not in exchange for protesting. Mark doesn't get to say "Ok breh I feel your protest.....let's just do it on the Jumbotron instead of the anthem? ok?"......if gonna make players choose one or the other thats trash. But we will see

I played from 08-10. Would have been 2011 but was shot multiple times when a guy robbed me for my car. When it comes to the jumbotron, I understand your perspective. And you are right. I've been looking at it from an athlete's perception tho. For example, we athletes love looking at that jumbrotron to ses our highlights. If im on that team, to see myself on that jumbotron giving a speech about social and racial injustice to a crowd of people in a bball arena would probably light a fire in me to really make a change. Like for example, when I was freshmen. All the starters would always say seeing your self on that big screen makes you go harder. I didnt understand until I got my first pick 6 in college and saw it on that screen. After the game, I went back to the gym to workout harder. I relate that experience to being able to speak about injustice on the big screen, which is something im passionate about. Maybe the players feel the same as I do or maybe not.
