AEW talent scout Mark Henry has made adding Braun Strowman a priority for his company, as he explained to TMZ Sports:

"Super high on my list," Henry said of Strowman. "It's not an all Mark Henry decision, but there's already interest on both sides.

"Hopefully by the time he's allowed to wrestle in August, I think the middle of August, then we could have a serious conversation about contractual things of that nature, but right now there's interest on both sides. I love that dude."

Strowman was released by WWE earlier this month, giving him the opportunity to sign with a new organization this summer.

Henry made the move from WWE to AEW himself, and he was instrumental in bringing Strowman—real name Adam Scherr—into wrestling after a strongman career. He will hope the experience could be enough to land the Superstar.

Also in related news, Braun looking for more than a hotdog and a handshake on the indie circuit

PWInsider (h/t Wrestling Inc) “reports that Strowman’s manager Nick Antocelli has quoted $20,000 – $25,000 for a three hour appearance...Strowman’s manager is also asking for first class airfare, a two-night hotel stay, plus all meals and ground transportation to be covered.”

Braun should do BOLA

im all for wrestlers jumping to different companies but this is where i draw a line.

braun stroman is the embodiment of the type of WWE star that chases fans away towards alternative promotions.

theres no place for him in AEW. let him go expose himself in a smaller promotion that could use a quick buzz for a few months.

How is there no place for him? AEW is mostly WWE style sports entertainment and he's a more legit monster than anyone else they've got.

It's not like he'd be joining New Japan. There's plenty of cartoonish shyt on AEW's roster.

nah

AEW is WCW's style of sports entertainment.

with that said, they could easily make it work, but theyre gonna lose alot of steam in the process.

Realistically what would he even do?

Most potential signings with people like Tommy End, Murphy and Riott you can at least figure what they'd do. What would Brauns place be on the card in AEW? He'd be way better off in impact or in nwa imo

Nothing. He will bring nothing to the table. This trash character works in the WWE where being mediocre but big can still work. Nowhere else in the wrestling world would that work

Friend of mine is deep in the conspiracy indeed and he sees these releases as a trap for AEW to sign knowing that the fan base will turn on the product. I'm starting to feel like he's right.
Christian is the anomaly, he's having awesome matches, but nobody was asking for Big Show or Mark Henry in AEW. And then they feature them on their new shows.

I don't know about turning on the product (my theory is that WWE is being cheap and basically getting AEW to cover these guys until their Legends contract), but I'm with your friend, these releases were strategic.
