but a lot more of the young kids do it now because Steph. simply because it has become more acceptable to just jack up a bunch of 3s. im not saying its ruining the NBA game. how ever it is making it hard to watch in the HS games. because these young kids wants to pull up from fukking half court & shyt. i mean we have 3 brothers out here from Chino Hills, called the ball brothers. these nikkas are basically mini stephs. all they do is shoot 3s. look them up.
lol. i know their dad and grand dad. all those dudes were friggin HUGE back in the day. which is why its so hilarious that their kids are chuckers.

I watched the game same as you fam and heard him say it in real time :usure:

he really didn't mince words my g
what other context could he have said it in to make it ok?

It is taken out of context because right after it he talked about all the other things that curry does great and how up and coming players should study his intangibles that really make him great and not just copy his flash. And he said the statement would sound crazy right before he said it. The article failed 2 mention that, plus it has been said on here numerous times so how is mark salty when its probably a unanimous opinion

the article did mention that, the author actually qualified his statement

Mark just went over the top with the "hurting the game" comment

These older dudes always wanna whine about the 3 point shot. It's been here and it's not going anywhere, get the fukk over it already.

(yes I understand that Jackson's comments were taken out of context, but this is more of a general observation, even thinking about someone like Popovich)

Anybody with a mind knows what he meant. nikkas is trying to be steph without putting in the work it took steph 2 become steph, nikkas see the threes and try 2 duplicate it.

or maybe he's just a talking head engaging in hyperbole

teams are shooting more threes in general, so if the style of play is changing then why wouldn't players attempt to adjust their skill set accordingly?

a lot of nikkas try to be their favorite players without putting in work, why is steph any different?
let's not act like nobody's played with chucking ass wannabe MJ, Kobe, AI nikkas before
you think THEY put in the work

all this alarm and whatnot is much ado about nothing
things change
paradigms shift
it is what it is

LeBron fade away threes could've been a cause for concern also but I don't think most kids have the upper body strength to attempt those.

Mark Jackson: Steph Is 'Hurting the Game'

From now until the end of time, Mark Jackson will always appear to have some resentment toward the Golden State Warriors.

The NBA on ESPN analyst, and former Warriors coach, called Golden State's NBA Finals rematch against the Cleveland Cavaliers for ABC on Friday and said the reigning MVP Stephen Curry, who leads the league at 30.8 points per contest, is "hurting the game."

Micah Peters of For The Win transcribed Jackson's comments in full:

Steph Curry’s great. Steph Curry’s the MVP. He’s a champion. Understand what I’m saying when I say this. He’s hurting the game. And what I mean by that is that I go into these high school gyms, I watch these kids, and the first thing they do is they run to the 3-point line. You are not Steph Curry. Work on the other aspects of the game. People think that he’s just a knock-down shooter.

Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago seems to agree with Jackson:

Upon hearing about Jackson's comments, teammate Andrew Bogut was quick to dismiss them, per Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group, "Anything he says you take with a grain of salt, and you can quote me on that."

Oh, where to begin with this one.

First, Curry is a once-in-a-generation player and sharpshooter, much like Reggie Miller and Ray Allen were. These all-time great shooters come in bunches. The only difference with Curry is, he's the superstar on a championship team and he's literally the most valuable player on the Warriors.

Comparing what Curry's doing to what high school players are doing is unfair. High school players want to emulate what the pros are doing. If they want to aspire to make hundreds of three-pointers in a season and put in the work to do such, then it's not a bad thing for young players to pattern their game after a superstar.

Apparently, it wasn't much of an issue when Andrew Wiggins was being called the next LeBron James, and it will be the same topic of conversation when LSU freshman Ben Simmons goes pro—because those guys are long, athletic and provide the flashy highlight dunks.

Maybe the NBA wouldn't be a three-point-heavy league if more teams got away from playing zone defense. The Warriors move the ball better than any team in the league, with the possible exception of the San Antonio Spurs.

With guys like Curry and Klay Thompson moving without the ball and being effective in catch-and-shoot situations against a zone, of course there are going to be more open perimeter shots. Maybe it's the zone defense killing the game, not Curry.

Better yet, Curry is making the game fun again. A kid from Davidson becomes the face of the franchise and the league MVP, and he's doing things all non-athletic kids can aspire to do. If he's inspiring kids to take threes and be successful that way, at least he's somehow making a difference.

Remain forever salty, Mark Jackson.

Mark Jackson sounds like a scorned bytch :mjlol:

I mean was anything he said wrong?

First off he praised him. By saying he's NOT just a knockdown shooter. Placing blame on the kids for not learning the other parts of his game.

Then he said its the kids who try to be him who are gonna fukk this game up

I mean find the falsehood in that

It's a damn shame that everyone has a phone and a million apps where you have to read and write all damn day
