the ether
but a lot more of the young kids do it now because Steph. simply because it has become more acceptable to just jack up a bunch of 3s. im not saying its ruining the NBA game. how ever it is making it hard to watch in the HS games. because these young kids wants to pull up from fukking half court & shyt. i mean we have 3 brothers out here from Chino Hills, called the ball brothers. these nikkas are basically mini stephs. all they do is shoot 3s. look them up.

they are cold as fukk. the oldest is going to UCLA.

their sons are fukking ridiculous bruh. they single handily beat the #1 team in the nation. they had like 76 of the 83 points the team scored. :damn:

that video that @Big Boss posted is the game im talking about.

All three brothers are committed to UCLA.

Highlights don't show you that they went 12-45 from three in the game. :dwillhuh:

Even though I'm a fan of playing any way that gets you the win, I think that's the kind of thing people are complaining about.

I mean was anything he said wrong?

First off he praised him. By saying he's NOT just a knockdown shooter. Placing blame on the kids for not learning the other parts of his game.

Then he said its the kids who try to be him who are gonna fukk this game up

I mean find the falsehood in that

It's a damn shame that everyone has a phone and a million apps where you have to read and write all damn day

Yet this is the worst gen when it comes to reading comprehension

"kids not learning the other parts of the game" of the game has been a problem since forever. or at least since so many dudes were washing out(or not even making it) since coming straight from high school.

do you really venture to tell me that kids emulating Curry are somehow going to be LESS fundamentally sound? that's utter and complete bullshyt and you know it. his fundamentals in a league where he's not as athletically gifted as the other elite guys in his tier are what sets him apart. if anything the alleged trend(and this is why other countries are catching up to us international basketball) is that American players' fundamental skills have been eroding with each generation due to all the focus on Sportscenter Top Ten plays, dunking. :mjpls:

but thanks for quoting my post and obviously not reading the rest of the thread because you have nothing better to do but troll people and insult their intelligence by implying they lack comprehension. even though I heard the nikka say it in real time. :stopitslime:

i guess you can understand what he is saying. by all these kids in HS jacking up 3s. i mean my nephew plays HS ball & i see all these 6'6 kids playing like they are steph. looking soft as fukk because they rather camp out instead of getting down in the post & using their size. but i guess you take the good with the bad with Stephs game. he is the star of the NBA. so of course kids are going to want to play like him. it really comes down to the coaches to let these kids know that they have to do more then shoot 3s.

i know he sounds bitter but you can see what Mark is saying. :manny:
prominent guards always have an effect on younger generation its their choice to do that shyt. The fact that kids back in the day would ONLY do crossovers because of Iverson is the same shyt. I'm one of those kids ....hell I even cut out a sock, strapped it on my arm as a shooting sleeve and ran my fat ass on my driveway tryna dribble thru the legs, spin moves and all

Mark is buggin man

make a half assed attempt to clown somebody over reading comprehension when you have shytty grammar brehs

:leostare:

:lolbron:

:mjlol:
comprehension and grammar are two different things.... i don't need grammar for you to understand my point... yet him using perfect grammar, you still don't fukking get it..... see?

and i say this gen... cause every damn day someone will make a direct quote... then everyone makes up 85% of the shyt they never said... and tries to form it into some "diss"

exactly what he said... is what i said

he talks of dudes going DIRECTLY to the 3 point line and chucking off any old fukking shot... yelling "curry" while doing it

he believes if this continues, these same dumb ass kids will be out here trying to shoot 150 3's a game instead of actually playing real basketball

he's saying it's fine to emulate steph IF YOU ARE EMULATING HIS ENTIRE GAME... not just chucking 3's

99% of kids can't dunk period... so they aren't emulating that shyt unless the rim is 7ft tall.... but they can launch ill advised 3's all damn game long

again... you don't have to agree... but people in here talking bout he shytting on steph... WHERE????

maybe he's just throwing out some anecdotal bullshyt so he can say something inflammatory for the attention :mjpls:

and you could say the same thing about other superstars of years past where kids just patterned and copied their game over small portions of the skill sets of the stars they admire.

lotta kids came up wanting to have better hops so they could dunk like MJ
lotta kids lost their minds over the AI/And 1 shyt and focused on working on their handles

things like this will ALWAYS happen once somebody brings something new and/or exciting to basketball at the highest levels. you acting like this nikka had some divine revelation or reinvented the wheel. and because the IDEA of what he's saying really isn't anything new under the sun why did he have to put it in such hyperbolic terms? :jbhmm:

that nikka up in his feelings, plain and simple. that's why, as other posters have alluded to, he's got more slick shyt to say about the Warriors than most. with maybe the exception of Charles Barkley

also, when in the broadcast did mark say kids are running back to the three point line and yelling "curry"????

makes up 85% of the shyt they never said

who's making shyt up now??

maybe... that's a good argument

but what he never did was down curry for one second for what he was doing... as many posters have said

he downed the kids for thinking all he does he shoot threes, and trying to do only that

but like others have said... he said this live and jeff van gundy fully agreed. and no him and barkley aren't the first or only people in basketball to say that kids are doing this dumb shyt now

it's still not a knock against curry... which is still something i can't see how people are making that connect from the quotes read

what if he said "kids are chucking up dumb ass 3s all game, trying to be steph curry... they aren't him cause they don't realize he has much more to his game"

it'd be the exact same thing, just worded differently

Isnt every league like that to an extent though?

The Dallas Cowboys could go 3-13 and still get multiple national games and hours of coverage simply because they're a bigger ratings draw than even a good Cincinnati Bengals team.

The NBA has done everything in their power to make sure that the league is balanced but they can help it if the league's stars want to play with their friends in glamour markets.

Other leagues aren't attempting to play god in the capacity the NBA is.

This happens every time style of play shifts in the league. shyt, dating back to Wilt. Anytime what folk think hoops is supposed to look like is challenged or cats start winning with shyt that most folks aren't good at...people wanna say the game is hurt overall. It's never been true, isn't true today and never will be true.

They said the same about the Jordan fadeaway, the same about AI crossing people over etc. Mark is smart enough to have said this better though. Fundamentally Steph is one of the best players as far as moving without the ball, passing, etc. I don't know why he felt the need to say this, it's kind of odd.,
