Serious question for the Christian brehs if you're reading: Mark quotes a passage that says "Look at me and be saved, for I am God, and there are no others". He then goes on to say how the other religions are not the truth. What makes the claim that Jesus is the true son of God any more believable than the others?
Short answer:
Jesus is a real historical figure who lived on earth.
Jesus was publicly executed.
Jesus body was guarded by government officials because they were weary of shenanigans because he had already spoken of himself as Deity.
3 days later under secure guard, Jesus body was absent from the grave.
Hundreds of eye witnesses claimed to have see him walking around alive after he was killed.
Skeptics accuse his disciples of stealing the body, but the how is not reasonable.
11 of his 12 core disciples were separated from each other, interrogated & tortured in isolation in various locations. Eventually being executed for refusing to waver on the claim that they had seen Jesus die and also had seen and spoken to him alive again.
Some people might be willing to die for something they believe to be true. But aint many people gonna die a torturous death for a known lie. Especially when any one of them could've denied the story to save their own neck without worrying about the reactions of the others.
