The Saved by the Bell reboot wouldn’t be complete without its lead Zack Morris, and luckily, the character is making a comeback.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has now closed a deal to appear in the reboot, which will exclusively air on Peacock, the upcoming streaming service from NBCUniversal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While the actor is currently a series regular on ABC’s Black-ish spinoff Mixed-ish, he will return to his “preppy” character as the erstwhile king of Bayside High.

THR's insiders say the actor will be in three episodes and be credited as a producer. The same sources say producers are also in talks with former star Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who played Kelly, to return in some way.

We’ll also see the comeback of original stars Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley, who played A.C. Slater and Jessi Spano, respectively. The reboot will delve into what occurs when Zack, now the California governor, gets into a jam for shuttering too many low-income high schools and proposing that affected students go to the highest-performing schools in the state, such as Bayside High.

The Saved by the Bell revival got the green light to go straight to series in September. Peacock will launch in April, with original shows being added to the summer lineup. A Battlestar Galactic reboot will also be among the exclusive shows made for the NBC streamer.

90s really was the goat era for shows like that. That’s why they’re trying to bring so many of those shows back. They just need to leave them alone. The reboots are never as good as the original. And no we don’t want to see flabby and sick saved by the bell.
They’re so uncreative these days, smh.

Edited: so they’re bringing back most of the former stars. I don’t think Lark is coming back at all though, she been through some shyt...

Another flop revival to go along with 90201, Roseanne, and full house. Please stop
Roseanne and Fuller House were both hits, not that I watched them.

They're gonna need a lot more than a Saved by the Bell revival if they want to subscribers. There's Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, Apple TV+, and HBO Max (coming in May). And I forgot about CBS All Access.

Streaming war is gonna get interesting.

Is Comcast tryna join the streaming war? That would be kinda redundant considering they co-own Hulu with Disney (albeit as a silent partner)
