I've been thinking alot recently about spousal financial expectations , wondering how OG's and actual grown folks do it..

when I was married, I paid all the house bills like mortgage, phone bills, utilities groceries etc. I also paid medical insurance for the fam.

she paid for her car insurance, kids clothes and daycare.

I pay everything. But I also have access to her money to pay things like the credit card bill that she runs up.

i pay everything. but my wiz takes care of EVERYTHING. 3 boys, cooking, cleaning, laundry.

she holds EVERYTHING down. she even mows the lawn

I pay the mortgage and car notes, insurance etx. My wife takes care of everything else like food and entertainment. But she contributes to the savings and investments too. Either way we are comfortable at this point and things run smoothly.

It depends. The things that are critical, we split. Most of the things I pay for.

We go half on everything. I used to pay for everything thinking my wife would pick up the slack with other things but it didnt work out..bred resentment.

Now, its pretty much we try to go 50/50 on everything.

She uses her savings for the kids, house stuff, herself and our vacations or weekend short trips.
