Married 20 years... met her when i was 13 and she was 10... when i liked her like that at 16 .. i knew... we went out for a year (89-90) but that was innocent stuff... i always said i'd marry her... life happened ... we live.... crossed paths again later then got married...

Same. unconditionally - my parents and brothers, son and daughter. I would die for them no hesitation. The only people worth the sacrifice. Other than that. Relationships have never been a priority for me and have never been worth that type of commitment or compromise. Reality and relationships never go together; there are always a few exceptions, but for the majority..no.
The majority of people are superficial therefore, they get into a superficial relationship, try to live out a fantasy and wonder why they never work. Most people don't know the meaning of love or how to express it. Love is not based on conditions.
Looking back, I self sabotaged on purpose because I needed an out. Not in a grimy or cheating type of way; I just knew that the longer I stayed - the more detrimental things could get. Better to cut off than to keep spiraling in a situation where you lose your own peace of mind and security. We're probably more self aware than most.
People get into a relationship thinking that it will help them get their shyt together. This only leads to more shyt bc if you are a broken person when you enter a relationship - that adds to it. All that does in create a cycle of latching onto the wrong person, for the wrong reasons based on convenience such as emotional or financial depedence. Never understood people who claim to be broke/financially insecure or unemployed but still date - I don't even like leaving the house if my shyt is not together.

Sounds like me. I only loved one, not my BM. I stay back but I wanna murder her for not coming back to meI’ve never truly loved anyone I’ve been in a relationship with, of course I thought I did, but it was lust. And when push come to shove when things got too deep I always backed off. In otherwords I don’t know what it’s like to deeply love someone enough to want to actually stick around for a commitment as strong as marriage.
